New volunteers are matched with two people to start with for once or twice-weekly calls. Callers then commit for a minimum of three months - and most pairs go on to call each other beyond this. As well as helping others, volunteering can provide a healthy boost to your self-confidence, self-esteem, and life satisfaction. You are doing good for others and the community, which provides a natural sense of accomplishment.
